getting out of hand now

ok, it is one thing to outlaw "corporal punishment" schools and to say that "spanking" is some form of abuse, but when you have California lawmakers wanting to introduce bills that will make "spanking" in the home against the law, we have gone too far.

read about it here

I am sorry if some people think that "spanking" a child is some form or child abuse…
"spanking" done in the correct way and in the correct manner is to me the most effective means of reprimand available to parents today..
I know that when I was growing up, there was nothing I dreaded more after doing something which was in direct defiance of my father's rules, than the words "you wait until your father gets home and hears about this.

that typically meant I was going to get a "spanking"…
did it do me good to get those "spankings"?
you better believe it…
my father never had to correct me twice for the same grievance and I am a better person today for it….
the ability to etch forever in my subconscious just the thought of the punishment I would receive was enough to deter me from slipping up again…

will I use "spanking" to deter my children from disobeying my rules of the house…most definitely..
will I use "spanking" in any instance while I am angry for the disobedience…absolutely not…
anger and "spanking" in my opinion cancel each other out as far as their effectiveness on the child…
