#10 Ohio State 28 @ Michigan 17

  • First, Ohio State doesn't lose Big 10(1) games. Even if they are in the Big House. Secondly, Michigan has tanked big time the second half of the season. Wow. What a fall.
  • Maybe Rich Rod really did practice these kids too long in the Summer. How else do you explain the tired team he seems to have right now?

North Carolina 20 @ Boston College 13

  • Butch Davis and Carolina are surging late in the season again. That defense is just amazingly stout and Boston College is a very one-dimensional team. Should be easy pickings.
  • The Eagle defense is ALSO very stout. This will definitely be a defensive battle. But the Heels have just a little bit more in the end.

Mississippi State 21 @ Arkansas 48

  • Arkansas is clicking on all cyclinders on offense right now and there probably isn't a better team on that side of the ball in the country. State will have trouble slowing down the machine that is Mallett and Company.
  • One way State can slow down Mallett, keep him on the sideline. Dixon is a BIG BRUISING back for hte Bulldogs and he may prove trouble for the Hogs D. He ran wild last year in Starkvegas. I have a feeling Willy will be ready for him this week considering the Dogs have NO passing game to speak of yet.

Oklahoma 30 @ Texas Tech 35

  • OU is about as up and down as it gets this year. Lose 10 – 3 @ Nebraska. Beat A&M 65 – 10 the next week in Norman. Wow. So who shows up this week in Lubbock?
  • Tech is almost as bad. They have played a little better at home though. The defense is just very schitzo though. I think they get just enough pressure though to stop OU.

#8 LSU 17 @ Ole Miss 9

  • So, lots of people think Ole Miss will win this one going away. I don't. Why? This nice little statistic right here in favor of the Tigers. LSU has allowed just three rushing touchdowns all season. If Ole Mis can't lean on McCluster, they are in T.R.O.U.B.L.E.
  • Then it falls on Snead. Can he lead the Rebels to their first win over LSU in Oxford since 1998? I wouldn't put money on that. Also, can Hootie beat LSU for the third-straight game? Once again, don't put any Benjamins on that bet.

#11 Oregon 27 @ Arizona 24

  • It isn't Desert Swarm by any means, but at times it has been very impressive this year. However, the Oregon offense will be just too much to handle for the Wildcats.
  • Anything can happen in the Desert in November. ESPN GameDay is there. The crowd will be roaring. It will be played under the lights. Still, Oregon is the better team and they want to play Ohio State for some roses.

Kansas State 9 @ Nebraskas 20

  • The game to determine the most worthless title in College Football today, Big XII North Champion. Almost as meaningful as Egg Bowl Champion. Just means you get to play Texas, and get slaughtered.
  • Bill Snyder's return to Manhattan was a nice story for the year. But still, K-State just isn't that good. And at home Nebraska is, well, okay, they aren't that good either, but they are better than K-State. I think. Remind me, did Iowa State win in Lincoln? Like I said, this division is HORRIBLE.

Kansas 14 @ #3 Texas 48

  • The Fighting Manginos are in complete and utter disarray right now with the meltdown that is happening in Lawrence. Physical and mental abuse allegations against Mangino by current and former players. Oh and apparently he thinks he can park anywhere on campus. Without a pass.
  • The last thing Kansas needs is to play Texas. In Austin. But that is what is on the schedule next. Expect to find Mangino floating down the Guadalupe River after this one and sailing out of Lawrence with the sunset.

#14 Penn State 17 @ Michigan State 14

  • It really is difficult to get excited about a Big 10 game. Any Big 10 game. The conference is just so blah! Sparty is very very good on offense. Joe Pa is very very good on defense. Moveable force meets immovable object. Immovable object usually wins.
  • I say usually because a) it is the Big 10, b) Sparty is at home, and c) Joe Pa's team has struggled as of late. Still I think tradition wins here.

#25 California 28 @ #17 Stanford 42

  • Stanford is just simply running over people the last couple of weeks. And not just ho-hum people either. They destroyed Oregon at home and then went to the Coliseum and dismantled the Trojans. Actually they embarrassed the Trojans.
  • Look for a lot more Gerhart and he leads the nation in TDs with 19. He could get close to 1600 yards after Saturday with a shot at 2000 with the bowl game for the Cardinal.
