1. #13 Oklahoma State vs #17 Oregon — Holiday Bowl
In another high scoring affair in the Holiday Bowl tradition, the Little XII gets another bowl win as the Cowpokes take care of the Ducks from Oregon. Hang on though, it will be a wild ride.
Cowpokes 45 Ducks 38

   2. Oregon State vs #20 Pittsburgh — Sun Bowl
The 'Stache gets a banged up Beaver team that was one win away from the Rose Bowl. The Panthers are playing decent football and although the Big Least was down this year in competition, it was probably still more competitive than the Pac-10. Panthers run on the Beavers.
Beavers 17 Panthers 31

   3. #24 Boston College vs Vandy — Music City Bowl
Although this is a "home game" for the Commodores, the Eagles haven't lost a bowl game in 8 tries. The Commodores haven't been to a bowl since before I was born. You do the math here. The Eagles D is more than good enough to stifle the horrible Dores Offense. Eagles win easily.
Eagles 28 Dores 13

   4. Kansas vs Minnesota — Insight Bowl
Another bowl game where defense is optional. The Fighting Manginos haven't played much defense all year and the Gophers, well they tried, but decided they didn't like it. Both teams have great offenses and it should be a shoot out.
Jayhawks 38 Gophers 42

   5. LSU vs #14 Georgia Tech — Chick-Fil-A Bowl
Sorry Big Hat Miles, but the Triple Option will eat your VERY average defense alive. Although the hiring of John Chavis probably helps a TON next year. Too bad he isn't on the sidelines for this one. Paul Johnson is immediately revered in Atlanta after knocking off JawJa and now LSU.
Tigers 28 Jackets 31

   6. South Carolina vs Iowa — Outback Bowl
The Ol Ball Coach. The Gamecock defense. That is all you need to know in this one.
Gamecocks 24 Hawkeyes 10

   7. #15 Georgia vs #18 Michigan State — Capital One Bowl
Can JawJa stop the run? Will this be Matthew Stafford's last collegiate game? How about Moreno? His last game as well? Not sure about any of those, but I like the SEC going against the Big 10(1) any day of the week.
JawJa 35 Sparty 21

   8. Nebraska vs Clemson — Gator Bowl
In what will continue to be a second tier conference division next year, the Little XII North will be won by the Pelini-led Huskers. Mark it down. They will start that by beating a solid ACC team in the Tigers in the Gator Bowl. The defense is coming around and Ganz and the offense seem to be clicking.
Huskers 35 Tigers 24

   9. #8 Penn State vs #5 USC — Rose Bowl
I truly believe this game will be MUCH closer than every one thinks. I believe the Trojan defense is "good", I don't think they are "great". They haven't played anyone and don't start throwing out Ohio State b/c not only was that early in the year, it was still Ohio State and they couldn't decide who they wanted at QB. JoePa can coach. Period.
JoePa 13 Carroll 17

  10. #12 Cincinnati vs #19 Virginia Tech — Orange Bowl
In Beamer I trust. The Hokies and Bud Foster have that lunch pail mentality back and although the job Brian Kelley has done at Cincy is amazing, it was still against the Big Least. The ACC Hokies should do just fine here.
Bearcats 16 Hokies 24

  11. #25 Ole Miss vs #7 Texas Tech — Cotton Bowl
Once again, a game that will be much closer than most expect. The Red Raiders haven't seen a defensive front like this one all year. And after there last two performances of the regular season, one has to wonder if this offense is able to make it through one more brutal game. They eek one out here.
Rebels 21 Red Raiders 24

  12. Kentucky vs East Carolina — Liberty Bowl
Kentucky hasn't been stellar all year, but if they can put the offense and the defense on the same page at the same time, this could be an easy win for them. The defense comes to play each and every game. However, the offense doesn't always show up. I think they do today.
Wildcats 28 Pirates 17

  13. #6 Utah vs #4 Alabama — Sugar Bowl
A VERY good defense goes against a VERY good offense. However, just like before, the Utes haven't seen a team with this kind of speed and athletes on both sides of the ball all year long. Bama is loaded at the skill positions and their 12 – 1 record proves it. They will handle the Utes just fine in what could be an old-fashioned beat down in N'orleans.
Utes 13 Tide 34

  14. #10 Ohio State vs #3 Texas — Fiesta Bowl
Some day very soon, the Buckeyes from Ohio State are going to get embarrassed so bad they actually quit playing football in Columbia. Don't they realize that Speed Kills?? After two successive beat downs at the hands of the SEC, they get the Little XII and the Longhorns. Easier? Nope, the Longhorns have a chip on their shoulder bigger than the state of Texas and they want to prove a point. It will be ugly in Tempe.
Buckeyes 10 Longhorns 42

      Give The Score — Tiebreaker
15. #2 Oklahoma vs #1 Florida — BCS Championship
I am sorry, but the string of games scoring more than 50 points will come to an end for the Sooners. They will actually be playing a team that knows what defense is all about. The SEC is built on defense. The Gators have one and they have the most explosive offense in the country (sorry Stoopsy). Touchdown Timmy will get the BCS Championship to put on his mantle next to the Heisman and the other trophies he receives from all those third-world countries he helps.
Sooners 20 Gators 35

Ok, here they are. Get them while their hot.

Top 10 Things Saw/Heard/Read From Week 6 in College Football

For 3 quarters Arkansas looked like a real SEC football team. Then the 4th quarter arrived, and 21, 76, and 64 yard runs later by Florida and it was 38 – 7 again. Marked improvement for 3 quarters though.

So, South Florida is the class of the Big Least conference, eh? Well, a home loss to the 'Stache wasn't good and now the Big Least is just as irrelevant as ever.

Oregon State is the Jeckyll and Hyde program again this year. After knocking off the Mighty Trojans from USC, they give up 11 points in the final 1:30 to lose to the Utes. This IS College Football.

BYU keeps rolling up points and rolling up wins. After steam rolling through the Aggies of Utah State, the Cougars are now firmly entrenched in the Top 10.

The Jayhawks came from 20 down to upend the Cyclones scoring 35 points in the final two quarters to win by 2.

Welcome to the Houston Nutt era in Oxford. Win IN the Swamp and then lose at home to the Ol Ball Coach. Hope you enjoy it

It was bound to happen some time, and lucky for the Crimson Tide it happened at home. They had a let down and escaped Tuscaloosa with a 3 point win over a game Kentucky team.

The Juice was Loose in Ann Arbor as the Illini steam rolled over the Wolverines behind Williams' 310 yards passing and 2 TD and his 121 yards rushing and 2 TD.

Break up the 'Dores!!! The Commodores held on to upend Auburn in Nashville and move to 5 – 0 and atop the SEC East. Someone take a picture. It is kind of like Obama getting a free pass from the MSM. It only happens once in a lifetime.

After 30 years of futility, the Missoura Tigers marched into Lincoln and completely dominated a hapless Cornhusker team. This Mizzou team is scary good on offense. Took them 58 seconds to score their first TD and the never slowed down from there.

Brick of the Week

This week, it was pretty easy giving out the BOTW. After a team losses at home to Arkansas State, you should NEVER pick them to win another game. Period. End of story. However, that is exactly what happened this week. After the once proud Aggies were stunned at home by Arkansas State, the Aggies have been anything but deplorable. They have 2 wins on the season against New Mexico and Navy. So, picking them to somehow beat a VERY talented Cowboy team in Stoolwater is just ludicrous. So, this week, Mr. Lance "My Raiders are Worse than My Razorbacks" Williams. Congratulations Gator!

Pick of the Week

Typically as the season goes on this award gets harder and harder to hand out. There are upsets, and there are Rivalry games and there are a sundry other things that make the odds of just one or two people correctly picking a game less realistic. Therefore, that is what has happened this week. We had 5 individuals who correctly picked the Ohio State Buckeyes to come from behind in Camp Randall and stun the Wisconsin Badgers for their first loss at home under Bielema. So, Mrs. April "Just call me Mommy" Mashburn, Mr. Steven "Lee Corso is my homeboy" Leija, Mr. Jonathan "Where are the Irish in these Pick-Ems" Butcher, Mr. Gene "I think we are turning the corner" Strode, and Mr. Travis "Class of 1991″ Stout. Congratulations folks!

Champion of the Week

Once again another week has come and gone and still no perfect Pick-Em weeks have been had. This week we came as close as we can possibly get without getting one. Our COTW went 9 – 1 and their only miss was a 1 point win by the Vanderbilt Commodores. Had the kicker not missed the PAT, OT would have taken place and you never know what happens then. Nonetheless, it was still a miss and therefore at 9 – 1 (the only one this week, btw) our COTW for Week 6 is none other than Mr. Steven "Kirk Hierbstreet is my home boy too" Leija. Congratulations Brotha-from-another-Motha!

Here they are:

North Carolina @ Miami
Even before UNC QB was hurt and lost for the season possibly, I felt that the U was on an upswing and Randy Shannon had turned things around in. I expect a good game with tons of athletes on the field, but on the road and a young Butch Davis squad spells LOSS.
Heels 14 Canes 31

Ole Miss @ Florida
Anyone that has followed the SEC for the past 10 years, understands that HDN always follows up his first SEC loss of the year with his second SEC loss of the year. Look for this year to be absolutely no different as Super Tebow and the mighty Gators demolish the lowly Rebels. The Ole Miss SEC Loss streak continues.
Ole Piss 10 Gators 35

Tennessee @ Auburn
Phat Phillip (he doesn't like to be called Phil) is in a lot of trouble in Tennessee. His winning percentage has done nothing but plummet the last 4 years and even though he went to the SECCG last year, this year is turning out to be a disaster. Can the spread finally work on all cylinders for Tommy T on the Plains? I think that it works enough.
Vols 13 Tigers 31

Arkansas @ Texas
It will take a perfect game in every aspect for the Hogs to pull off the victory. However, the Horns are 109th in the country at defending the pass and Casey Dick (when he throws to the proper receivers) is averaging almost 275 yards a game. The Hogs will play out of their minds. The D will step up and stop the run and the O will control the clock. In an upset of epic proportions, the Hogs and Bobby P stun Mack Brown and the Horns in Austin…..again.
Hawgs 24 Horns 21

TCU @ Oklahoma
The Sooners are playing the best ball in the country right now. Especially after the Trojans went into Corvalis and laid an egg again. Look for them to control the ball and have several big plays and require TCU to throw to try and catch up. In the end, the Sooners are just too much for the Horned Frogs.
Frogs 17 Sooners 42

Mississippi State @ LSU
After a bowl win last season the Bulldogs looked like they had probably turned the corner. However, after the horrific start to this season and it appears they may have given up in a 38 – 7 loss at Georgia Tech, this game could get ugly in a hurry down on the Bayou.
Pups 7 Tigers 38

South Florida @ NC State
Can the Bulls survive the trap that has been NC State @ home this year? The Wolf Pack can't beat anyone unless they are ranked. They beat Cal and East Carolina at home. So, if the Bulls are going to survive, they need to play better than last week. Look for Grothe & Company to have a big day and the Bulls win a big game on the road.
Bulls 28 Pack 17

Virginia Tech @ Nebraska
Can Bo Pelini's team get a big win over a "name" opponent at home? Will this game signify they have finally turned the corner in Lincoln? I think that the Huskers do win, however, I don't think Va Tech is the team they have been in the past couple of years.
Hokies 14 Huskers 21

Illinois @ Penn State
Happy Valley at night. Jo Pa still winning games at like 100 years old. Illinois struggling after a great year last year. Big 10(1) finally taking center stage. Can all these add up to a great game? They sure hope so, but I foresee a Nitny Lion romp.
Illini 16 Lions 41

Colorado @ Florida State
The Seminoles showed they have no idea what to do against a decent defensive team last week at home when they scored 3 points against Wake Forest. This week the Buffs come in undefeated with a pretty salty defense. In the end, the Little XII upends the ACC at home.
Buffs 21 Seminoles 13

Alabama @ JawJa
The Bulldogs are a lot better team than they have shown most of the year. This week they finally put it all together and Nick Saban gets his just deserves in the SEC on the road. The Bulldogs and Richt march up and down the field and totally dominate the Tide. The home team in the SEC wins 90% of the time (unless you are Arkansas and playing 15 freshmen). Bulldogs at home.
Tide 13 Bulldogs 31
