2010 RazorPicks Week 2 Results

So, week 2 is in the books for the 2010 College Football season. Things continue to bewilder and just plain confuse most fans. Here are some things I learned from the past weekend:

  1. Boise State won't be sending Va Tech any Christmas cards after the Hokies last @ home to one guy, James Madison. The Broncos needed the Hokies to run the table.
  2. Rich Rod may have found his QB in Denard Robinson. He had a school record 502 yards of offense against the Irish as the Wolverines moved to 2 – 0. Yes, he had 502, BY HIMSELF!
  3. What is it with the Dakota schools?? North Dakota State beats Kansas @ Lawrence in week 1 and now South Dakota knocks off Minnesota at home in week 2. Geez. Maybe the ACC should recruit one of those schools??
  4. Speaking of the ACC, geez what a nightmare of a weekend for that conference. The aforementioned James Madison victory in Blacksburg, combined with the shocking loss by Georgia Tech at Kansas (yeah, same Kansas team who lost to North Dakota State) combined with Florida State getting taken to the woodshed by the Sooners and Miami just imploding in the Horshoe and it was a week the ACC hopes to forget soon.
  5. How long will Slick Rick be the coach at UCLA now? They lost @ K-State to start the season and in their home debut, they lay a goose egg in getting beat 35 – 0 to a bunch of trees from Stanford. Man, and just when you thought UCLA could beat cross-city rival USC for once.

Brick of the Week
Well, I actually triple-checked this pick and I honestly couldn't believe it. However, long about mid-ways through the 3rd quarter of this game, I am sure the individual was feeling pretty good about his obvious upset pick. Then the wheels fell off for the Volunteers and the Ducks figured out you could score pretty easily in any fashion on them. And they did. Repeatedly. So, the BOTW this week goes to Mr. Ben "They really need Volunteers in UT" Gilbert. Sorry bud.

Pick of the Week
Some weeks there are really no clear cut winners for each of these categories, but I still like to see if people will attempt to go out on limbs and pick upsets as Ben attempted to do in the Tennessee vs Oregon game. Therefore, this week, everyone who correctly picked the South Carolina win at home over Geogria wins the POTW. Why? Well, only 16 out of 25 got it correct. The worst percentage for the board for the set of 10 games.

Champion of the Week
So this week, seems the games weren't that difficult. Therefore, I am going to have to start picking some more interesting match-ups I guess. We had 7 people perfect for the week, and the worst record for the week was 7 – 3. Geez! So, once again, we go to the tie-breaker. And therefore Week 2 of 2010 RazorPicks with a tie-break score of 1 (yes, 1!!!) is Jake "Whoever you are out there" Monden. Introduce yourself Jake!!! Congratulations.
