wow, what a weekend for razorback baseball…

given the dismal performances on sunday last weekend against lsu and then the even worse showing in tulsa on tuesday in a loss to oral roberts…
who would have given the razorbacks a prayer of a chance going into a 3 game series with alabama…
the tide hadn't lost a series all year in the SEC and sat at 15 – 6 in the league on the year…
they were ranked #4 in the country and had starting pitching lined up for the weekend with a combined record of 21 – 4….
the tide held a 4 game lead over the razorbacks in the SECW and the rebels from ole miss were in second a game ahead of the hogs…

but somehow, someway, the razorbacks decided this was the weekend to put it all together….
they managed a 4 – 3 victory on friday night in the 11th inning on true freshman 3b logan forsythe's single up the middle with the bases loaded…
then on saturday the bats came out on fire and built a 9 – 0 lead after just 2 innings….
this allowed the team to coast to a 13 – 7 win on saturday (the most lopsided loss for the tide ALL YEAR)…
sunday was a little different as the hogs had to come back from a 2 – 0 deficit in the 6th inning with 4 runs and then hold on to sweep the tide 5 – 3 on sunday…
a 3 run home run off the scoreboard in right by Jake Dugger was the big blow in the 4 run 6th….

now the SEC race looks SOOO much different for the Hogs…
they now sit alone in second place in the SECW…
while the hogs were sweeping the tide the rebels were getting swept in lexington, ky by the wildcats…
the standings now show the following…

1) Bama (15 – 9)
2) Hogs (14 – 10)
3) Rebels (13 – 11)

this weekend is huge as the hogs travel to Oxford to tangle with the rebs for three games…
this weekend will either setup a very intersting final weekend or it will eliminate any chances the hogs have of the SECW title or even the overall SEC title…
Bama hosts Florida (worst team in the SEC) in tuscaloosa and the Hogs need to win at least 1 if not 2 in oxford….
the final weekend has the hogs hosting Auburn (last in the SECW) while Bama travels to Knoxville to take on the Volunteers and Ole Miss travels to in-state rival Mississippi State…

this weekend is HUGE for the Razorbacks….
