making a push

well, just two short weeks ago, the Razorback basketball team sat with a 16 – 11 record with two home games remaining and a season ending clash @ red-hot Vanderbilt in Memorial Gymnasium..

after getting demolished at home by Tennessee to fall to 16 – 12 and 5 – 9 in the SEC, the Hogs were deemed finished..

SEC West leading and recent Hog PG teammates from Mississippi State were coming to the Bud and it wasn't looking good…

then a funny thing happened in that State game…

one Charles Rhodes tried to pick a fight with the recent Dawg defector and the Razorback team finally appeared to have come together…

blowing open what was a close game the Hogs went on to win by 11 against the Dawgs and showed signs of becoming a "team"…

they then went on the road where they had won 2 games all year and where Vanderbilt was 13 – 0 at home including a resounding victory over then #1 Florida just days earlier…

what happened? the Hogs dominated from start to finish winning by 15 and ending the 'Dores home winning streak…

the Hogs entered the SEC Tourney needing to win it to get to the field of 65 by the experts….

they were the SEC West #3 seed and faced the SEC East #6 seed South Carolina Gamecocks who had earlier in the season beaten the Hogs in Columbia by 6…

the result? the Hogs ran all over the Gamecocks to a 30 point victory setting up a rematch with the Commodores from Vanderbilt….

could the Hogs pull of two upsets to the same team in less than one calendar week???

with a last second jumper by Gary Ervin and a clanging three pointer by Dores guard Shan Foster, they advanced to the Semis with a stunning 72 – 71 victory..

who do they face you ask? that same State team that just two weeks ago seemed to bring this team together….

can the Hogs continue their magical run through the SEC tourney?

will a win today cement them in the NCAA Tourney??

can they get a shot at SEC Regular Season and defending National Champion Florida tomorrow for the SEC Tourney crown?

who knows….but my gut tells me that the defector from State who is now the Hog PG will have a lot to say about it today at noon…

stay tuned…..
