RazorPicks 2009 — Week 4 My Picks

South Florida @ #18 Florida State
It is the Jekyll and Hyde team of college football. Will the team that struggled offensively against Jacksonville State or the one who throttled BYU in Provo show up?? I am going to say that Jimbo Fisher's offense is getting back on track. So the Noles roll in this one.

Bulls 17 Noles 48

#22 North Carolina @ Georgia Tech
Just haven't been impressed with the Carolina team yet. They have squeaked some wins out in the final minutes, but I think that this might be the week. At home look for the Wreck to bounce back after a HORRIBLE showing down in Miami last week. The home crowd really helps.

Heels 13 Wreck 17

Arkansas @ #3 Alabama
As you all know, I just can NOT physically ever pick against my Hogs. And I most definitely will NEVER pick Bammer to beat them. Ever. This is going to be a monumental game in Tuscaloosa for the Hogs and the Tide. Alabama played very well in its opening game against Va Tech, but we have seen Va Tech isn't that tough of a defense to run on. Arkansas defense got shredded by Joe Cox and the Bulldogs. However, several players didn't play the entire game on defense. Look for the Hogs to establish the run sooner and for Mallett to have success. Can the Hog D do anything?? Will McElroy be able to throw on the Hogs as well as Cox did? I just don't think so … but I have been wrong before …

Hogs 34 Tide 30

#6 California @ Oregon
The win at home last week against Utah was very impressive for the Ducks. However, the Bears have a MUCH more potent offense than the Utes did. Jhavod Best is the real deal running the football. The Ducks will have no answer for him all day long.

Bears 38 Ducks 27

#24 Washington @ Stanford
Jake Loecker is very very good. However, a road game after a MAJOR upset will be very interesting for the Huskies. Can they handle the pressure? Will they have the UPSET hangover that plagues so many young teams? Can the handle winning? I just don't think so.

Huskies 24 Cardinal 28

Texas Tech @ #17 Houston
The Cougars are playing very very well. The Red Raiders just came off a very emotional loss @ their arch rival in Austin. Can they bounce back on a quick turn around? I just think the offense of the Cougars will be too much for the Raiders to handle in the end. Another big win for the Cougars over the Little XII.

Raiders 35 Cougars 42

Iowa @ #5 Penn State
While I would love to pick the upset here again for the Hawkeyes, I just don't think it will happen. Joe Pa will have them ready to go in Happy Valley on primetime tomorrow night. No way they let them slip up on the Lions this year. It will be a close game however, right down to the wire.

Hawkeyes 20 Lions 24

Illinois @ #13 Ohio State
Terrell Pryor will have a good game again like he did last week against Toledo. Ron Zook is in some trouble with this team from Champagne. The haven't looked good AT ALL this year and this won't be pretty. Fire Ron Zook .com might get active again.

Illini 13 Buckeyes 31

#15 TCU @ Clemson
The Horned Frogs get another notch on the BCS Buster belt this weekend as they visit Death Valley in the sea of orange. TCU is just a much more disciplined team than the Tigers are this year. The Tigers can be very explosive, but I just think the Horned Frog defense will be able to shut them down in the end.

Horned Frogs 28 Tigers 24

#9 Miami @ #11 Virginia Tech
Forecast is for a sloppy sloppy field in Blacksburg. That most definitely favors the Hokies. Miami and Jacory Harris are great through the air and they might be able to run on Ginny Tech, but I just don't know if they have what it takes to win on the road. The won in Tallahassee, but it was a barn burner till the end. Look for this one to go down to the wire as well. Hokies and Beamer come out on top.
