RazorPicks 08 — Week 8 Results

Alright, and to get caught up, here are the week 8 results.

Brick of the Week

This week we actually had a little bit better scoring than last week. However, that isn't saying a whole lot and it wasn't by a lot either. Almost like a complete pick higher, but not quite to land at 5.63 correct for this week. Above the .500 line, but not by much. The BOTW this week however, goes to the little engine that might have run out of gas. This team started like gangbusters with a 5 – 0 start and some "impressive at the time" wins. However, they have now lost back-to-back road games and the schedule only gets tougher after a possible bowl eligible win this weekend. The BOTW goes to Mr. Jonathan "It could happen to anyone" Butcher for his pick of Vandy to upend Jaw-Ja at home. Sorry bud, you were actually the only one to pick them.

Pick of the Week

Sometimes the POTW comes on a much ballyhooed and hyped game of the week where an underdog rises up and knocks off the perennial powerhouse. Such as Standford and their 48 point underdog status in the Coliseum last year when the upset USC. This week however, it wasn't that big up an underdog who stole the show. This team did start the season with some horrendous losses at home though. But they rebounded and now have won 2 in a row including an upset over #18 North Carolina this past weekend. That means, with their pick of Virginia to beat North Carolina, the POTW goes to Mr. Travis "Got my limit every day" Stout. Congratulations bud.

Champion of the Week

The COTW this week was kind of prophetic in his picks this week. He went out on a limb with some of them and they paid off. However, his one pick for his home state team to win in Lexington came with this by-line "come on boys, don't let me down this week." Well, I believe I can honestly say that this is probably the closest we have ever came to having a perfect week and not getting one. The Arkansas/Kentucky game was the only game this contestant missed. And that was only after Arkansas surrendered a 13 point lead in the final 5:06 of the game to the Wildcats. So, with his record of 9 – 1, the COTW goes to Mr. Travis "How can you not run the clock out?" Stout. Congratulations bud!

  • Dude, Vandy’s on a roll this year. Let me ask you this, if I was right, I would have gotten the POTW, right? Moral of the story: don’t ask me for advice on college football or stocks…
