RazorPicks — Week 5 Results

These will be abbreviated as I am WAY behind…
I will state that in my 7 years of running this contest, I have never been below .500 in a given week…..BEFORE this past week…
It was a brutal week to say the least…

Brick of the Week
Where to start? It was just a brutal and historic day on Saturday, September 29. 6 of the top 10 teams in the college polls lost for the first time in one day in the history of college football. That wasn't a good omen to say the least. For this week, there were two games where absolutely none of the 17 people submitting picks correctly predicted the winner. Absolutely no one gave Colorado or Auburn a shot against ZeroU and Florida respectively. The games were at home for both those winners, but still, they appeared to be over-matched in their respective games. Therefore, the entire crew gets the BOTW this week. Enjoy it folks.

Pick of the Week
Obviously, if one person could have picked Colorado or Auburn they would have been a shoe-in for the POTW. But alas, no one did. Therefore, we move to other games. Four individuals correctly picked that Georgia Tech would get off the mat and not only beat Clemson, but they would hold them to NO TD in a game. That is amazing by itself for sure with that offense. However, those four will share the POTW this week. They were: Mr. Gene "Don't count out the Hogs" Strode, Mr. Jason "Arkansas will win by this much" Shirey, Mr. Jon "Drew Brees is horrible" McCurdy and Mr. Steven "No FFL Championship this year" Leija. Congrats guys.

Champion of the Week
As is typically the case, if an individual can be in the POTW award, they probably will be in the running for the COTW as well. This week, as I stated wasn't all that great. The average number of games correct was 5. That means the majority of the people were .500 or better. However, in a week of amazing upsets, this individual rose WAY above the crowd. He only missed the two games in the BOTW that EVERYONE missed. Therefore, with a simply stellar 8 – 2 record for this week, Mr. Jason "I do what I can to set the curve" Shirey. Congratulations bud!!
