RazorPicks — Week 4 My Picks

North Carolina @ #23 South Florida (Line: S. Florida -13.5)
Butch Davis may be a great "builder" of football programs, but this game is way too early in the reconstruction phase in Chapel Hill to expect a win against a MUCH more talented team. The Bulls in a romp.

Heels 13 Bulls 31

#3 Florida @ Mississippi (Line: Florida -23)
It wouldn't matter if this game were played in New Orleans and any of the Mannings were QB for the Ole Mrs, they still wouldn't beat Myer and Tebow. Gators continue their impressive run through the early SEC field.

Gators 48 Rebels 21

#10 Penn State @ Michigan (Line: State -2.5)
All I have to say is if the Nitny Lions aren't fired up after hearing the Lou Holtz pep talk on BSPN for the past 4 nights, then they might as well just go home and call it done. Michigan is decent when they don't play a team that runs the spread. This is a good match-up of teams with identical strengths and weaknesses. However, Jo Pa beats Carr.

Lions 24 Wolverines 15

Michigan State @ Notre Dame (Line: Michigan State – 11)
That is how bad it has gotten in South Bend when you are an 11 point underdog in your own house. You have the "Offensive Wizard" in Weis as your head coach and yet you rank dead last in ever offensive category in Division 1 except passing yards per game. In that category there are actually 4 teams worse than you. It won't get any better this week and I simply LOVE IT!!!! Sparty remembers what Quinn and the boys did to them last year with that miracle comeback. No comebacks this day.

Spartans 42 Irish 6

#21 Kentucky @ Arkansas (Line: Hogs -7)
This will be an interesting match-up in Fayetteville. There was a lot of emotion for both teams in their games last week. Arkansas losing on a last second play to Alabama and Kentucky beating their arch-rival and #9 Louisville in the 4th quarter. Can Woodson out-duel McFadden? Will the Hogs defense actually be able to make plays on the Wildcats receivers? The D-Line of the Wildcats is just deplorable. I expect the Hogs to control the line of scrimmage and wear down the Cats. Woodson can't score when he is sitting on the bench. McFadden continues a blistering pace in SEC play with another 200 yard performance and sets the Arkansas All-Time rushing record.

Wildcats 35 Hogs 49

#22 Georgia @ #16 Alabama (Line: Bama – 3.5)
I refuse to believe the hype. I simply do. I may go down in flames with this pick. However, Mark Richt is 22 – 3 at Gawga on the road in the SEC. THAT is pretty darn amazing to me. I think he beats up on Satan and Stafford has a coming out party for Gawga.

Dogs 31 Tide 21

Texas Tech @ Oklahoma State (Line: Tech -6)
All I have to say is if Tech loses this game, they can kiss their Big XII Season good bye in the first game. OSU is just down right horrible on defense. They might be able to hang with Tech on offense for a while, but in the end, Tech pulls away.

Raiders 51 Cowboys 41

Washington @ UCLA (Line: UCLA -6.5)
Before last week's game, this would have been a shoe-in pick for the Bruins. They were #11 in the country and appeared to be rolling right along with 0 – 2 Utah on the table next. Then Utah hung 44 points on the Bruins in shocking them 44 – 16. Washington on the other hand after ending the Broncos winning streak the week before were humbled by the Buckeyes in Spokane. So, honestly it is a toss-up and in those occasions you go with the home team.

Huskies 21 Bruins 24

East Carolina @ #5 West Virginia (Line: W. Va -25)
I honestly haven't bought into the Big East as a powerhouse football conference at all. The fact that they have 3 teams in the Top 25 is disgusting to me. They don't play football in the Big East. They play Pop Warner style ball. East Carolina held their own against Va Tech earlier in the year in Blacksburg in an emotional game for the Hokies. I expect them to hang tough in this one as well in Morgantown. Slaton and White prove too much in the end, but the Mountaineers don't cover that is for dang sure.

E. Carolina 24 W. Va 38

Give the Score:
#12 South Carolina @ #2 LSU (Line: Tiggers -17.5)
This game is a "who do you hate more" game for me. I think that these two coaches are the two cockiest guys on the ball field today. Maybe on Bob Stoops come close to being as cocky as them. I expect thought that in Death Valley, even in the middle of the day, the Tiggers are just too much for the Gamecocks. The defense of South Carolina will be a good test for Miles and the boys, however, they are honestly just too much. And unless you have an outstanding defense, you aren't going to ever outscore LSU due to the best defense in the country. Tiggers blow out Cocky.
