RazorPicks — Week 4 Results

Top Things I Saw/Heard/Read About Week 4 in College Football

  • Miami and Randy Shannon showed that Miami might still be rebuilding, but they just might be ahead of schedule by throttling the Aggies.
  • That "Hurry-Up-No-Huddle High School" offense of Malzhan at Tulsa was absolutely no match for a true college football program as Bob Stoops and OU spanked the Hurricanes 62 – 21.
  • The Kentucky-hangover continued for Louisville as they were upset at home by winless Syracuse.
  • Florida looked EXTREMELY sluggish in Oxford as they held on to beat the Rebels 30 – 24.
  • Nebraska got all they could ever possibly want or imagine they would get when Ball State took them to the wire and missed a last-second field goal that would have won the game. Call it the SoCal-hangover.
  • Les Miles and LSU showed the Ol Ball Coach that they are indeed a legit title contender by beating up on the Gamecocks in Baton Rogue.
  • Michigan has now bounced back to beat Notre Dame (yawn) and Penn State (wow) in consecutive weeks. My question, what will they possibly do once they actually play on the road???
  • Notre Dame scored an offensive TD (first of the year) but still couldn't beat Sparty and thus fell to 0 – 4 for the first time in the history of Irish football.
  • Kentucky improved to 4 – 0 by beating Arkansas in Fayetteville. The Wildcats were the recipients of several gifts by the Razorbacks, the biggest being the quitting by the Hogs Defense in the second half. They simply laid down.
  • Mark Richt dropped the Saban-meter a little bit back down to reality as his Bulldogs went into Tuscaloosa and upset Bama in OT.

Brick of the Week
Well, the BOTW this week, quite honestly, can't get any easier to award. When only one individual misses a game and that game is a visiting team over a ranked home team, you kind of got to just go ahead and hand over the award in that situation. Therefore, the BOTW for her pick of North Carolina over South Florida goes to Ms. Ashley "I can't help it, I like Carolina Blue" Moseley.

Pick of the Week
There were actually two games that could have qualified for a possible POTW in this week's games. Those games were Kentucky @ Arkansas and Texas Tech @ Oklahoma State. Three people correctly picked the Cats over the Hogs, but only two people picked the Cowboys over the Red Raiders. Therefore because of that pick the winners of POTW goes to Ms. Ashley "Yes, I won both BOTW and POTW in the same week" Moseley" and Mr. Gene "Cowboys will beat Raiders every time" Strode. Congratulations.

Champion of the Week
This week we once again had no 10 – 0 record. We also once again this week had to go to the tie-breaker. The two individuals who correctly picked 8 of the 10 both missed the same two games (Kentucky over Arkansas and Okie State over Texas Tech). When we went to the tiebreaker, one had a tie-break score of 10 and the other had a tie-break score of 7. Very close even in the tie-break. However, the Week 4 COTW goes to Mr. Jason "I can't believe what I just saw at Razorback Stadium" Shirey. Congratulations Jason!!
